HONG KONG: Publication of the Revised List of Specified Shares for Short Selling

A revised List of Specified Shares (List) has been published on the SFC’s website to reflect the changes of designated securities for short selling announced by the HKEx on 20 July 2012.

It has been advised to download the List and use the exact stock code and stock name on the List to prepare the Reportable Short Position Template (Template). It has also been recommended to use the revised List for submissions of reportable short positions with effect from 27 July 2012 until further notice.

While the SFC will maintain the List up-to-date on best effort basis to facilitate market participants to prepare for their reporting, market participants should also monitor themselves vigilantly for any changes to the List.
