HONG KONG: Reply from the SFC on application of Hong Kong short selling position reporting rules

In response to a query on the application of the Hong Kong short selling position reporting rules to groups with multiple legal entities, the Securities and Futures Commission has provided as follows:

“Please refer to the Consultation on Securities and Futures (Short Position Reporting) Rules – May 2011, you may find more information on our regulatory approach in short position reporting by a group structure with multiple legal entities at para. 13(a)(ii) and para. 18.”
