The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has welcomed the Investment Agreement and Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation under the framework of the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) signed in Hong Kong on 28 June 2017.

The initiatives under the latest agreements will facilitate promotion and protection of investments between Hong Kong and the Mainland, including further expansion of the mutual market access schemes.

“The enhancements of CEPA will promote economic and technical cooperation between the two markets. We will work very closely with our Mainland counterparts to establish the necessary regulatory framework to implement the initiatives under the agreements,” said Mr Ashley Alder, the SFC’s Chief Executive Officer.
