The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has updated its list of recognised central counterparties (CCPs) based in third countries. The update concerns the recognition of six non-EU central counterparties (CCPs).

  • ESMA recognised the following entities:Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC);
  • Clearing Corporation of India Ltd (CCIL);
  • Nasdaq Dubai Ltd;
  • Japan Commodity Clearing House Co., Ltd (JCCH);
  • BM&FBovespa S.A., Brazil; and
  • Nodal Clearing LLC, USA.

The European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) requires third-country CCPs to be recognised by ESMA in order to operate in the European Union.
