Pinsent Masons Irish Limited Partnership legislation webinar
Wednesday, 10th February, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
On 23 December 2020, the President of Ireland signed the Investment Limited Partnerships (Amendment) Bill 2020 (ILP Bill) into law. Widely hailed as a major development for the Irish funds industry, this long-awaited update will modernise the law governing investment limited partnerships (ILPs) and further cement Ireland’s existing position as a leading fund domicile. Expected to be in enacted in early February 2021, the ILP Bill will boost Ireland’s commitment to real asset and private markets investing, with ILPs likely to become the preferred vehicle in Ireland for investment in assets such as real estate, energy, infrastructure, private equity and private debt.
Our Asset Management & Investment Funds team are delighted to be joined by guest speakers Catharine Dwyer, Senior Policy Specialist from the Central Bank of Ireland’s Markets Policy Division, who will outline the new Central Bank guidance for closed-ended funds and Aymeric Lechartier, Managing Director at Carne Group, to explore:
- What this development means for Ireland as a competitive jurisdiction for private investment funds;
- How managers in the real assets and private markets space can use it to raise capital from European investors; and
- Provide a comparison of the new ILP against partnerships in other jurisdictions, including the Lux SCSp and UK limited partnerships.
