Submitting Returns to GABRIEL

GABRIEL (Gathering Better Regulatory Information Electronically) is the FCA’s reporting system.

To submit returns to GABRIEL firms must first register with the system and elect a Principal User; this is the user with privileges to submit filings.

To register, firms/individuals will require the Individual Reference Number (IRN) and National Insurance details, OR 18-character registration key and Firm Reference Number (FRN).

Once registered, firms can submit to GABRIEL by the following methods:

FundWare will provide a XML report for direct submission into GABRIEL.

Once a data item has been submitted GABRIEL will require validation and will highlight any errors, along with the data element in question and an explanation accompanying the error; please see the corresponding guide on GABRIEL & XML errors.

Data can be submitted only once it is uploaded, verified and cross-verified.
