The EET is a cross-sectoral template designed to standardise the exchange of ESG data between asset managers and distributors to enable compliance with SFDR and also requirements under MiFID the Insurance Distribution Directive.
Developed by FinDatEx, the EET will provide the required data set for all funds to explain a fundβs ESG characteristics. The reporting required will depend on whether the funds are article 6, 8 or 9 funds.
Phase 1 of the EET (V1.0) came into effect from 1 June 2022. Asset managers marketing their funds in the European Union started to submit EET data on a voluntary basis from that date.
