It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.
Consider if you will, the year 2020, a pandemic grips the earth, a reality TV star who takes unprescribed malaria medication is President of the United States and the founder of a global conglomerate (SoftBank) compares himself to Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, this is not an episode of the Twilight Zone but rather real life. In bizarre circumstances this week Masayoshi Son of SoftBank likened himself to Jesus when explaining his firms $18 Billion dollar loss on their Vision Fund. Yes, you read that correctly. This comes off the back of losses with WeWork and Uber. He feels that SoftBankâs performance is coming under too negative a scrutiny.
To add greater oddity to matters, a corporate handout from SoftBank illustrates white horses falling into what they have called âThe Valley of Coronavirusâ. Fear not, in the image they emerge triumphant unicorns safely on the other side. And no, I am not making any of this up.
What an interesting world we find ourselves in today. Take care.
